Historic Swatara Ferry House in Dauphin County PA

Swatara Ferry House (3)The Swatara Ferry House is a a historical landmark in Middletown PA, Dauphin County. The one and a half story log building was originaly constructed in the late Eighteenth/ Eary Nineteen Century served as the Ferry House for ferry traffic on the Swatara Creek on their way to, or from, the Susquehanna River. Swatara Ferry House (2)

 

 

It was also known as an old "fort". The Swatara House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It is currently owned by Middletown Borough. It is located along South Union St.near another historic building, The Liberty Band Hall, as well as the Middletown Public Pool.
