Centre Furnace MansionThe Centre Furnace Mansion is a rebuilt iron master's residence for Centre Furnace that has been completely restored and refurnished in order to properly reflect the period of residency of the iron master Moses Thompson and his family. Mr. Thompson and his family resided in this home from 1842 until 1891. Since its restoration the Centre Furnace Mansion now serves as the headquarters for the Centre County Historical Society. The new Centre Furnace site includes the Centre Furnace Mansion, furnace stack, and its surrounding eight acres. This site is responsible for representing a small portion of the late 18th-century ironmaking village that was once located there.
